Several types of geotextile rolls and sediment barriers in stock. Orders can also be placed for specific types. Sold in rolls only
Geotextiles are permeable technical textiles made of synthetic fibers. They are used in civil engineering, environmental and landscape architecture works to separate, filter, improve drainage, reinforce and distribute more efficiently the loads imposed on soils and surfaces. They are permanent and insensitive to the acids found naturally in soils. This gives them a lifespan exceeding that of the structures they protect.
Main ranges of geotextile products :
Nonwovens
76 Series
The 76 Series is a set of versatile geotextiles that maximize the mechanical and hydraulic functions of the product. These geotextiles are readily available in a wide variety of grades and formats. This line can be used in most applications such as road construction, geomembrane protection, riprap and slope stabilization, etc.
900 Series
The 900 Series is a set of geotextiles with optimized mechanical properties for the protection of waterproof geomembranes and in-plane liquid drainage. The special properties of these products allow them to substitute sand in many applications to reduce the volume of backfill required, giving you more containment volume on the same surface and a cost reduction in projects where natural materials are more expensive. These products are typically used in environmental work such as landfill cells.
GeoRoute Series
Inspired by the 76 series, the Geotrail series is optimized for road construction and meets the specific requirements of the Ministère des Transports du Québec. This line is available in several types of products (Type I to Type VI), each with specific functions adapted to the types of work carried out in the context of road construction projects. These products are certified by the Bureau de Normalisation du Québec as to their compliance with the BNQ 7009-910 protocol.
TEX Series
The TEX series was developed to meet the specific requirements of landscape architecture projects. The properties of these products have been optimized to meet the different needs of the commercial and landscaping markets. The products in this series are available in sizes to suit the size of the project and the variety of landscape architecture jobs.
Woven fabrics
SX Series
The SX Series is a line of woven geotextiles made from polypropylene tapes. Due to their different production process, the woven products have different properties than other non-woven geotextile lines. They represent an economical alternative for projects where good soil separation combined with good mechanical strength in tension is required.
Composites and Specialties
Tex-O-Flex
Tex-O-Flex is a product invented by Texel, consisting of a geotextile and a PVC geomembrane laminated together to create a protective geo-composite used around manholes and catch basins. Tex-O-Flex has a smooth surface that is installed around the manhole to decouple the manhole from the surrounding soil, thus limiting the lifting and misalignment of manholes that cause surface movement. This product offers an economical solution to minimize damage to the road network caused by manhole heave.
Sediment Barrier
Type 1
The Type 1 sediment barrier is a flexible fence made of a woven geotextile pre-assembled with industrial staples on wooden posts. The base of the stakes is tapered to facilitate soil penetration and a 150 mm flap is provided at the base of the geotextile to allow for proper anchoring in the soil. These barriers, placed around the periphery of the construction site where soils are disturbed, are designed to control the migration of soil particles and to prevent contamination of adjacent sites (waterways, parking lots, streets, etc.). This is a sedimentation control structure that is intended to protect the environment and is required by several water management guides and by the CCDG of the Ministère des Transports du Québec.
